Q AND A:
Is golf the only sport you have played?
While golf is my primary focus, I have a diverse athletic background. I played club soccer for 11 years, winning both the California State Cup and National Cup, and started two years of varsity soccer in high school. I also competed in high school flag football, playing wide receiver, quarterback, and punter during the fall season, and I participate in track and field. Earlier in my athletic journey, I was a competitive dancer across all styles and also played tennis for a period of time. These experiences have helped develop my athleticism, discipline, and competitive mindset and qualities I bring to my golf game every day.
What are your strengths and your weaknesses?
One of my biggest strengths is my dedication to improvement—whether it’s refining my swing, sharpening my mental game, or pushing myself in competition, I embrace the grind. My background in multiple sports has also helped me develop strong athleticism, adaptability, and a competitive mindset. Additionally, my ability to perform under pressure and stay composed on the course is a key advantage. In terms of weaknesses, I recognize that my mental game can sometimes be a challenge. I’m working on staying focused and maintaining a positive mindset during competition, especially when faced with setbacks. I believe that strengthening my mental resilience will enhance my overall performance and help me reach my goals.
What are your favorite things to do outside of golf?
When I’m not on the course, I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy being a youth leader at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, where I get to mentor and support younger kids in the community. Staying active is a big part of my life, whether it’s playing other sports, working out, or trying new hobbies. I’ve always loved competition and pushing myself to improve, but I also enjoy just hanging out, exploring new places, or taking time to recharge.
